The 37-year-old actress, best known for her portrayal of detective Kate Beckett on ABC's police procedural "Castle," celebrated her 37th birthday over the weekend by marrying her longtime love Kris Brkljac.
They exchanged "I do's" at a private family monastery on the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia, her rep told Us Weekly. Brkljac is a business efficiency consultant, and the two of them have been together for many years.
While the Season 7 finale of "Castle" won't air until May 11, the show had already wrapped production on the said installment, which explained how Katic had the time to prepare for her wedding.
The show, however, has not been renewed for Season 8 as of this time, making fans worried that the Season 7 finale would serve as the series final episode.
"Castle" fans also freaked out last month when Katic seemingly hinted on Twitter that ABC might not renew the show for another season.
A fan asked her, "@Stana_Katic Castle Series Finale is approaching.....how do u feel ?"
To which she responded, "Proud of all we've accomplished. Grateful 4 being part of the ride.
Katic can be next see in the independent drama film "The Tourist." The Evan Oppenheimer-directed flick also stars Brett Dalton, Alessandra Mastronardi, Marco Bonini, Alessandro Preziosi and Emily Atack.
The flick follows the story of Eric Lazard (Dalton), a heartbroken former college football star who gets in over his head with a dangerous Florentine sport and an alluring local woman, Stephanie (Mastronardi), while visiting Anna (Katic), his cousin, who lives in Italy and teaches the Italian language to foreigners
The sport featured in the film is called Calcio Fiorentino. It's an archaic form of football that has been played in Italy since the sixteenth century.
